Day 20+. Paint and trim

We managed to get another free day out of the lift.  We got all the trim pieces up and most of the painting done. 

Days 17+: now we are getting serious

We had to rent a scissor lift to safely get the roof and higher walls done. Crazy, but it works well and is probable worth it just for the added safety...

We figured we had to really push hard on the project while we had the rental lift. 

Our awesome neighbor John came over and helped out tremendously. He's a very handy guy and things moved quickly with his help.

Jules and her friend Emma brought a disco karaoke machine up there.

Checked my hacked up right hand on the drill...

Next step- painting and trim. Getting closer to being done. Can't wait. At this point the kids are tired of me spending so much time on it...

Days 15-16- ish

Lots of work getting done now. Bec and I worked in the walls today. Also we put some paint on the beams. It's leftover paint from our house. We had a half gallon or so of " pella brown". Looks pretty good I think and it helps the beams blend in better.

Days 14-15

Here is a nice pic from my brother Chris that shows the treehouse in vertical panorama. Gives you a good perspective of just how big the tree is...  

Days 11-13

Doing work a little bit at a time. Worked on the roof and started filling in the walls. Also added a lock to the trapdoor. 

Day 10: more walls

Getting closer to getting an enclosed structure. I decided to just build the walls on the platform stick by stick which worked pretty well. Still at least another day on walls...

Days 8 and 9

We got a lot done. The walls started going up. We built the first side on the ground and hoisted it up. That was a little    dicey, but we did it. 

Day 7: floor and ladder

Beautiful weather to work outside today. Got the floor and ladder done. 

Day 6: braces and trap door

Trevor helped  me finish the corner braces and trap door today. 

Day 5: corner braces.

Several days have gone by and we started putting the deck boards on for he floor. But, we realized we really needed some kind of corner bracing before we got too much further. 

Days 3 and 4: floor joists

Next we started the platform. This went much smoother than expected. The weather was nice and the kids helped out some.
